Journey To Jade 2
Travel Schedule:
June 4th:  Leave Austin and
fly to Beijing.

June 5th:  Arrive in Beijing,
the Great Wall staff will
meet us at the Beijing
Airport.

June 6th:  Tour The Great
Wall of China, Tiananmen
Square, and The Forbidden
City.

June 7th:  Leave Beijing for
Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.  
This is the capitol city of the
province where Jade lives.
Once we land, we will Meet
Kathryn Jade Zhang Dahlke.    
     
  Gotcha Day!

June 8th:  We will go to Civil
Affairs to do the relevant
paperwork.
June 9th - 13th
June 4th.  We made it to
Minneapolis.  Just 20 more
hours to go!  A.G. already lost
his boarding pass.  Good thing
they will give him another one!
June 5th Well, almost 24
hours after leaving Austin
and he have finally
arrived in Japan.  Within
the past 24 hours, we
have yet to see darkness.
 On to Beijing - it is 4:24
am Austin time and 6:24
pm Tokyo time.
June 5th. We have arrived in Beijing!  
Our guide, Veronica, met us at the
airport.  We were scanned for fever by
medical health professionals prior to
deboarding the plane.  That was
interesting.  10:30 pm - Beijing Time
June 6th. Great day - we had
fantastic tours and enjoyed the whole
day.  Amy, Sue, and Jacob made it to
the top of the Great Wall.  The two old
guys couldn't hack it!
This is the group we will be
traveling with.  There are a
total of 11 families receiving
their daughters tomorrow.
Jacob enjoyed the
Emperor's Garden
and meeting his new
friend Drew.

graduation.  We are so sorry we

June 7th.
June 8th:  Jade is doing great!  She slept 8+
hours last night and is eating very well.  We
finalized the adoption today at Civil Affairs and it is
final.  Now we just have to wait on her passport
approval and U.S. requirements.
June 8th:  The above group picture was taken
with the director of the orphanage in Fuzhou.  He
was able to tell us about the home in which Jade
has been living for the past year.  We found out
that she was in foster care in the country.  She has
been living with a family of three people who are
vegitable farmers.  She loves fruits and vegitables!
